The building is owned by Bexley Council and operated by Greener Bexley. The Council support us by maintaining the fabric of the building, seconding Library Staff to us and providing us with some new books.
In early 2011 Bexley Council asked for expressions of interest from community groups that might wish to take on responsibility for the management of the Library. We (charity Greener Bexley) came forward and after a series of discussions, interviews (and many reports!) we took on the management of this important community resource from the 19th July 2012.
You can support us by using the Library and joining as a Library Member. We also need volunteers to support our Librarians. We are looking for donations of money, books, cds and dvds. If material donated to the Library is not suitable for our use for any reason we will sell it for the benefit of the Library or pass it on to another charity.
We are using the Library to encourage recycling and you can donate your old mobile phone, printer cartridges and personal computers all of which can be refurbished or recycled and raise money for our charity.
We hope to see you in the Library.
Jonathan Rooks, Chair.
